• Account Information: When you register, we collect your chosen username. To protect your privacy, we do not require a real email address; our system generates a functional proxy email (e.g., username@vyla.pages.dev) solely for backend authentication.
• Usage & Preferences: We store your watch history, watch progress, favorites, watch later lists, and custom settings (such as themes, language, and subtitle preferences) to synchronize your experience across devices.
• Search Queries: When using our AI Search feature, your text inputs are processed to return accurate media recommendations.
• Technical Data: We temporarily process IP addresses and device fingerprints solely for security (e.g., CAPTCHA verification) and rate-limiting.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your data is used strictly to operate and improve the platform:

• To authenticate your account and sync your personalized library across devices.
• To provide AI-driven search results and media recommendations based on your activity.
• To maintain platform security, prevent bot abuse, and enforce rate limits.

4. Third-Party Services

Vyla relies on essential third-party providers. We do not sell or trade your data to advertisers. We share minimal necessary data with:

• Google Firebase: Used for secure user authentication and hosting your cloud-synced database (watch history, favorites, settings).
• The Movie Database (TMDB): Used to fetch movie and TV show metadata. No personal user data is shared with TMDB.
• Cloudflare (Turnstile): Used to prevent automated bot attacks during registration and login.
• Vexa AI: Used to process natural language queries for our AI Search feature. Search queries are sent anonymously.

5. Local Storage & Cookies

Vyla heavily utilizes your browser's Local Storage and Session Storage to cache TMDB metadata, store offline settings (such as themes and layouts), and manage your active session. You can clear this data at any time via the "Clear Cache" button in the Advanced Settings menu or your browser settings.

6. Data Rights & Control

You have full control over your data. Within your account settings, you can export your data (history, favorites, watch later), clear your local cache, or request full account deletion via our official community channels.
