Getting Started
Welcome to Vyla
Vyla is a next-generation content aggregator designed to streamline your entertainment
experience. We combine the vast metadata of TMDB with a powerful, multi-source streaming
engine
to provide a seamless interface for Movies and TV Shows.
Account Types
- Guest Mode: Designed for instant access. No email or password is
required.
Your data is stored locally in your browser's cache. Note: If you clear your browser
data, your lists will be lost.
- Registered Account: The complete experience. By creating an account,
your
data is synced to the cloud via Supabase. This allows you to start a movie on your phone
and
finish it on your desktop.
Browsing & Discovery
The Home Feed
Your home page features a Hero Carousel spotlighting trending movies, a
Continue Watching rail tracking your progress, and curated collections like
"Latest Releases" and "4K Content".
Smart Search
The search bar utilizes an instant inline engine. As you type, results appear immediately
over
your current view without reloading the page. It supports fuzzy matching for titles.
Advanced Filtering
Navigate to the Movies or TV Shows tabs to filter by
Streaming
Provider (e.g., Netflix, HBO Max) or Genre.
The Viewing Experience
Cinematic Overlay
Clicking any poster opens the Details Overlay. It features live backgrounds (if enabled),
full
metadata, and smart actions to Play, Favorite , or Watch Later
.
Cast & Crew
Click on any actor's face in the Cast section to open a nested Cast Profile.
This displays their biography and a comprehensive filmography, allowing for infinite
discovery
chains.
Video Player
Source Selection Engine
Vyla aggregates content from multiple providers. If a video buffers or fails, use the
Source Selector:
- Locate the server icon in the top right (desktop) or
dropdown
(mobile).
- Select a different provider (e.g., VidLink, Vidfast).
- The player will reload immediately.
The Episode Drawer
For TV Shows, switch episodes without leaving the player. On desktop, click the "Episodes"
bar or
press Up Arrow. On mobile, swipe up from the bottom.
Settings & Customization
- Hero Carousel: Toggle the rotating banner on the home page.
- Text Titles: Force standard text rendering instead of logo images.
- Trailer Backgrounds: Controls auto-playing trailers in the Details
Overlay.
- Low Quality Images: Force compressed images to save data.
Troubleshooting
Playback Issues
If you experience buffering, try switching sources using the
icon.
If you have an aggressive ad-blocker, try pausing it temporarily if the player fails to
initialize.
Application Errors
If the UI becomes unresponsive, try a Hard Refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R) or clear
your
browser cache.
